Chair of the Board: Leadership Through the Seasons

This summer’s MRLA Board Meeting at the beautiful Highlands of Harbor Springs was unlike any other–a celebration of our well-fought wins this year, and because we were able to share it with our families. Having loved ones present brought a sense of warmth and connection that reminded us why we do what we do. It was a special moment to celebrate how far we’ve come while also grounding ourselves in what truly matters–the people who support and inspire us every step of the way.
The meeting itself was a powerful reflection of our collective commitment to the Michigan Hospitality Industry. We had thoughtful discussions, candid conversations, and a shared sense of purpose as we looked at the year’s
achievements and the opportunities ahead. Seeing everyone so engaged, building strategic visions through Lego’s, bringing not only their expertise but also their passion for our hospitality industry, makes me deeply proud to serve as Chairman of this board.
Now, we turn our focus to the work ahead–our Strategic Planning Retreat in October. Together, we will chart a course for sustainable growth, continued innovation, and a culture that reflects the values we all believe in within the MRLA.I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to each of you–fellow board members and the MRLA team. Your dedication, resilience, and collaboration continue to inspire me. And to our families, thank you for the encouragement and sacrifices that allow us to lead with purpose and energy.
As we move forward, let’s carry the spirit of connection and determination that we felt this summer into everything we do. With focus, creativity, and care for one another, I know that we will finish this year strong and lay the foundation for the challenges ahead.
