How and when will I receive my book?
If you have registered for the Review Class with Book + Exam, or the Book + Exam option, we will send your book and study materials to you at the address you provided on the registration page.
If you registered for the Exam ONLY, no study materials will be sent, but you will recieve a confirmation email that includes a link to a practice test.

Is the class required? Or can I just take the exam?
The class is not required in order to take the exam. However, participants who enroll in the class are more likely to successfully pass the certification exam, and we strongly recommend the class to anyone who is preparing to take the certification exam for the first time.
Can I register on-site?
No. All attendees must be pre-registered in order to ensure our instructors have the correct number of exams and classrooms have enough space for all examinees.
Where are the classes held?
Classes are held in various cities throughout Michigan, including Grand Rapids, Lansing, Kalamazoo, and the metro-Detroit area. The cities are listed in the class title on our ServSafe calendar each month, and you will receive the physical address of the class in your confirmation email after registration.

Do I need to purchase the book?
You are not required to purchase the book from the MRLA. If you already have a book, you are welcome to register for the review class (please call Heidi Hiner at 800-968-9668 to schedule) or register for the Exam Only option.
What if I need to reschedule?
Reschedule requests will be honored at no extra charge if submitted prior to the class dates. Reschedule request submitted after the class date will incur a $45 rescheduling fee.
Can someone else take my place in a class?
Registration is transferable. Please notify us of attendee name changes prior to the class.
Where do I find the exam sheet?
The scantron sheet needed for taking the exam will be provided by the instructor at the time of the exam.
What should I bring to class?
You MUST bring a valid Photo Identification. A driver's license, State ID, Military ID, or passport are all examples of acceptable identification. You will NOT be allowed to take the exam without ID.
Is lunch provided?
Lunch is not provided. You are welcome to bring your own beverages, snacks, and lunch items, however.
Will parking be validated?
Most classes are held in locations with ample free parking. In the case of a parking ramp or metered parking, however, the MRLA does not reimburse parking expenses.
