LANSING, MICH. – The Michigan Restaurant & Lodging Association (MRLA) is pleased to announce that Connor Spalding has joined the organization as Vice President of Government Affairs. In his position, Spalding is responsible for all government relations and lobbying activities while representing the voice of the hospitality industry in Michigan.
“Connor joins the MRLA with a sterling reputation from his tenure in the Senate and we are excited to welcome him to the team,” said Justin Winslow, President & CEO of the MRLA. “His experience within the Michigan Legislature puts him ahead of the learning curve and allows him to successfully communicate the voice of the industry immediately as a new era in government begins.”

Preceding his time in Senator Shirkey’s office, he spent seven years holding various titles throughout the Michigan Senate.
“It is an exciting time to join the MRLA team as we expand into lodging and turn the page into a new year,“ said Spalding. “I have worked extensively with the association from the legislature side of the equation and am looking forward to be directly advocating for our members throughout the state.”
Spalding holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics from Michigan State University. He and his wife, Kimberly, reside in Lansing with their two dogs.
