MICHIGAN RESTAURANT & LODGING ASSOCIATION NAMES FIVE NEW BOARD MEMBERS

New Directors from Bloomfield Hills, Grand Rapids, Mackinac Island, Plymouth, Traverse City
LANSING, MICH. – The Michigan Restaurant & Lodging Association (MRLA) announces the addition of Ken Hayward, Asad Malik, Trevor Tkach, Paul Wegert and Rick Winn to its Board of Directors. The new members represent the hospitality industry from locations across the state as the MRLA expands into lodging.
“We are honored to welcome these industry leaders to our Board of Directors as we expand our association into lodging,” said Justin Winslow, President & CEO of the MRLA. “Through their addition, the MRLA has created an exceptionally strong foundation by which to expand the vision and the voice of the hospitality industry in Michigan.”
- Ken Hayward is Executive Vice President and Managing Director of Grand Hotel, a historic and award-winning 397-room hotel built in 1887 on Mackinac Island.
- Asad Malik is the Owner of Amerilodge Group which owns 27 hotels across Michigan and the Midwest. Malik was named one of Crain’s 50 Fastest Growing Companies and DBusiness’ 500 Most Powerful Business Leaders in 2018.
- Trevor Tkach is the President & CEO of Traverse City Tourism, the convention and visitors bureau for the Grand Traverse region. Originally from Traverse City, Tkach has a passion for Northern Michigan to continue to thrive.
- Paul Wegert is the Managing Director/Area Manager of the Inn at St. John’s in Plymouth. Wegert has dedicated his entire career to Michigan hospitality and was named the 2019 RD Musser Hotelier of the Year.
- Rick Winn is the President of AHC+Hospitality with a growing portfolio of hotels across the United States and Caribbean including Grand Rapids, Detroit, Florida, Hawaii and The British Virgin Islands.
