MRLA President & CEO Issues Statement Regarding Michigan’s Stay At Home Executive Order
“The Michigan Restaurant & Lodging Association is relieved that Governor Whitmer's order deemed both restaurants and hotels as essential services and therefore can remain open during these unprecedented times. Restaurants are providing critical food service for the front-line health and public safety officials incapable of working from home and helping to manage public demand currently unmet. Hotels are providing needed shelter for vulnerable populations and stand ready to play a critical role in the coming weeks as we seek to mitigate COVID-19.
On behalf of the 600,000 hospitality workers that create the second largest employer industry in the state, we continue to encourage everyone to lend their support by placing carry-out or food delivery orders at your favorite restaurant. The Michigan Restaurant & Lodging Association remains steadfast in our efforts to fight the spread of COVID-19 and remains in close contact with local, state and federal officials to continue to advocate for relief resources to support our industry.”
