Buddy's Pizza Scores Partnership with University of Michigan Athletics
This fall, Michigan fans can support their favorite sports team while supporting a state-favorite brand. Buddy's Pizza, a Detroit-based pizzeria with 22 locations across the state, announced early in August a partnership with the University of Michigan Athletics, allowing Buddy's to serve Michigan fans in Big House. Buddy's Pizza will be featured in Wolverine arenas, including also the Crisler Center and Yost Ice Arena, for the next five years, according to the new agreement. Fans will have the choice of cheese or pepperoni pizzas from the iconic Buddy's.
Michigan Hotels Notch "Best in the Midwest" rankings from Travel + Leisure Magazine
According to nearly 165,000 readers of Travel + Leisure Magazine, four hotels are exceptional destinations in the entire Midwest- and one of our members tops the list. Hotel Walloon was voted the #1 Resort Hotel in the Midwest and #5 in the US, earning high marks for location, service, food, rooms and facilities, and overall value. This vintage property overlooking Lake Walloon stood out for its chic yet quaint style as well as the easy-to-access outdoor activities. Three stunning hotels on Mackinac Island also won awards, with Hotel Iroquois, Island House Hotel, and the Grand Hotel all placed in the top ten of Midwest resorts.
Yelp Names Four Member Restaurants Among Top 100 in the Midwest
In a top 100 list that covers Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota, Ohio, and Wisconsin in addition to Michigan, four members made the cut. San Chez Bistro (Grand Rapids) was voted #43, Real Food Cafe (Grand Rapids) came in at #79, Selden Standard (Detroit) ranked #84, and Butcher's Union (Grand Rapids) landed at #98.

Island House Hotel lands on USA Today's national rankings of historic hotels
When it comes to taking you back in time, the Island House Hotel is at the top of its game. USA Today recently honored the resort, which is situated on the iconic Mackinac Island, as a winner in its annual Best Historic Hotel contest. The nomination was made by an expert panel, and the public then voted for the most excellent choices, with an emphasis on hotels that stayed true to their historic ties, classic stories, and unique sense of place. The Island House Hotel earned a #10 ranking from readers across the country.

We're thrilled to announce that Women in Hospitality Leadership is continuing to spread across the state, with two new chapters debuting in Port Huron and Mackinac Island. WIHL's mission is to connect women in Michigan's hospitality industry through education and social responsibility, and we are excited to see more and more MRLA leaders joining together to support each other and the industry. Michigan Cares 4 Tourism Volunteer Trip
Michigan Cares for Tourism (MC4T) is a completely volunteer-based organization that aims to impact local communities by supporting Michigan tourism. It's a way to give back to the tourism industry through projects and programs all around the state, with chances to learn and to contribute to the splendid attractions that draw visitors to Michigan.
Join MC4T in the Porcupine Mountains this September to help maintain a natural gem and tourism staple on the western side of the Upper Peninsula. From September 11-12, volunteers will travel to Ontonagon to experience and work in the Porcupine Mountains Wilderness State Parks.
