As part of the Michigan Restaurant & Lodging Association’s centennial celebration, BMI proudly recognizes its important 19-year partnership with the association. Since 2002, the association has been a valued partner in BMI’s association discount program, saving MRLA members more than $500,000 in discounted music licensing fees.
Last year was an unprecedented time for the hospitality industry, with many businesses having to adjust their music use in response to the pandemic. The MRLA and BMI worked together to provide MRLA members with key information on BMI’s music license, which provides business owners the flexibility to experiment up to three times per contract year to see which music use policy works best for their individual establishments. BMI is grateful for the MRLA’s support of our songwriters, who add ambiance to their members’ businesses. Without payment of these business’ licensing fees, music creators would be unable to continue to create the music we all enjoy.
